Beginning January 1, 2007, Intel is embarking on a change in strategy for deployment of the Intel(r) Teach Program. Intel Teach is shifting from working with Regional Training Agencies (like ALTEC) to working with Intel Teach Affiliates. These Affiliates will be select State Departments of Education and Great City School districts where Intel Teach aligns with their priorities for development of 21^st century skills. Outside these designated states and cities, a limited number of Master Teacher training events will be offered on prescheduled dates at selected locations across the nation.

Intel Teach will continue to serve all schools and districts (LEAs) currently involved with the program. Materials and support, including curriculum books and online resources, will be provided without charge for Intel Teach courses conducted for those LEAs’ teachers and administrators. Please continue recruiting Participant Teachers and conducting training!  Information regarding Graduate Credit for your courses can be found on the RTA website at:  http://workshop.altec.org/rta/resources/gradcredit/  Questions regarding the Intel Teach Program can be directed to the Customer Support Team at teacher.training@intel.com.

Although no longer involved with the Intel Teach Program, ALTEC remains committed to engaging learners through the power of technology.  We are moving forward with developing new tools and resources (www.4teachers.org), as well as offering quality professional development (http://pd.altec.org/)  and creating a research agenda to support the use of technology in the classroom. 

Your hard work and dedication to the program has resulted in exemplary professional development reaching many teachers. Because of you, thousands of students have more opportunity than ever to utilize computer technology in truly meaningful, educational ways.
